Easiest Chocolate Mousse

This recipe is exactly what it claims  – Easiest Chocolate Mousse. It’s truly the easiest chocolate mouse to make! In under 20 minutes, you can whip up this decadent no-bake dessert. It’s perfect for cooling off during summertime or any other day, actually. Make this for your family and friends and they will surely be impressed.

  • Serves 8 people
  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Milk Chocolate Mousse

  • 200 grams 31% – 39% Milk Chocolate Couverture  chopped
  • 300 ml Whipping Cream  chilled

Cream Chantilly

  • 200 ml Whipping Cream  cold
  • 4 tablespoons Icing Sugar
  • Fresh Strawberries  for garnish
  • Chocolate Shavings  for garnish

Procedure

  1. Melt the chocolate over a double boiler. Once melted, let it cool.
  2. Meanwhile, using a mixing bowl with a whisk attachment, whisk the whipping cream until stiff peak.
  3. Fold the whipped cream into the cooling milk chocolate.
  4. Pour the mousse or use a piping bag into 8 shot glasses (3oz).
  5. Chill in the fridge to set.
  6. Whip the cream until it forms a soft peak.
  7. Add the sugar, and mix in gently.
  8. Pipe the cream chantilly on top of each milk chocolate mousse.
  9. Garnish with chocolate shavings and strawberries.
  10. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.

recipe notes

I prefer using chocolate couverture over chocolate compound as it is real chocolate that has cocoa butter. It will give your chocolate mouse a heavenly, smooth and silky texture to it. The brand I used was Callebaut’s milk chocolate callets. Other excellent chocolate brands are Lindt, Godiva, Ghirardelli. Look at the chocolate percentage. I suggest using compound chocolate only for garnishes or templates.
