These fun and festive Halloween Witch Cupcakes are a deliciuosly spooky treat tperfect for Halloween parties and trick-or-treat celebrations. With their playful witchy decorations flavor, they’re sure to cast a spell on kids and adults alike!
INGREDIENTS:
Chocolate Cupcakes
- ¼ cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Caster Sugar
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder
- ½ tsp. Baking Soda
- ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
- ½ cup Whole Milk, warm
- 1 large Egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup Hot Water
Buttercream Frosting
- 500 grams Unsalted Butter, cut into cubes
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 2 tsp. Black Food Coloring
- 2 tbsp. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp. Green Food Coloring
Decorations
- 2 cups Milk Chocolate Compound, melted
- Sugar Cones
- M&M’s Candy
- Sunburst Choco Candy
- Choco rocks gemstones
PROCEDURE:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Use the bottom heating element.
- Dip the cones in the melted chocolate. Cones will serve as witch hats. Transfer them to a tray with parchment paper. Keep in the fridge until ready to use.
- Make the cupcake batter by starting with the dry ingredients. In a mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix everything until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients. Pour in the milk, egg, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix it well. Add hot water to thin out the batter. Mix until well combined. Don’t overmix it.
- Fill the cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- Fill the cupcake liners with the batter.
- Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes. Place the cupcake pan in the middle of the oven.
- Once the cupcakes are baked, let them cool for 30 minutes before frosting.
- Time to make the buttercream frosting. In a mixing bowl, add the butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until light and fluffy using medium speed. Once fluffy, divide the frosting into two. For the first frosting, color it green. For the second one, add cocoa powder and black coloring.
- Transfer the black frosting to a piping bag with a piping tip that has small holes. Chill in the fridge for 5 minutes together with the green frosting.
- Start decorating the cupcakes. Put green frosting on top of the cupcakes and shape it like a dome. Using the piping bag with black frosting, decorate the hair of the witch.
- Put the eyes, nose, and mouth using M&M’s and Sunburst chocolates.
- Time to put on the witch hat.
- Ready to serve.
