This Korean Fried Chicken is irresistibly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender inside, with a savory, satisfying flavor in every bite. Delicious on its own or tossed in your favorite sauce, it’s the ultimate comfort food for fried chicken lovers.
INGREDIENTS:
- 6 pieces Chicken Thigh
- 4 pieces Chicken Drumstick
- 6 pieces Chicken Wings
Marinade
- 2 tablespoons Ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
Breading
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- 2 medium Eggs, beaten
- 4-5 cups coconut Oil, for frying
Sweet & Sticky Sauce
- ½ cup Water
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ cup Soy Sauce
- ¼ cup White Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Gochujang
PROCEDURE:
- In a mixing bowl, put the chicken, ginger and sesame oil. Mix together and marinate in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Prepare the sweet and sticky sauce. Using a wok, add the water, brown sugar, soy sauce, white vinegar and gochujang paste. Whisk until well combined.
- Prepare first the oil since it will take time to be ready. Using a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat.
- While waiting for the oil, prepare the chicken. Season both sides of chicken with salt and pepper.
- Prepare the breadings. In a mixing plate, mix the cornstarch, all-purpose flour and baking powder. Season it with salt.
- Dip the chicken into the eggs and coat them well with the breading mixture.
- Start frying. Make sure to cook both sides evenly.
- Reheat the sauce. Coat the chicken with the Sweet & Sticky sauce.
- To assemble, place the chicken in a serving dish. Serve while hot.
